Norwegian Cruise Line passenger alleges he burned feet on hot deck

Cruise 09

MIAMI – A Florida couple alleges the husband suffered second-degree burns on his feet because of a hot deck.

Arturo O. Ynigo and Marison Martinez Ynigo filed a complaint on Jan. 20 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Norwegian Cruise Line, doing business as NCL (Bahamas) LTD and NCL Corp. LTD, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on July 6, 2016, Arturo O. Ynigo suffered severe burns on his feet after walking barefoot on the surface of the deck after stepping out of the pool. He alleges he was later diagnosed with second-degree burns on his feet. The plaintiffs hold Norwegian Cruise Line responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to warn of the dangerous condition.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek compensatory damages and any other relief as the court deems just. They are represented by Robert W. Rodriguez in Miami and Karen B. Parker in Miami.
