PENSACOLA – An individual claims a debt collector harassed her with multiple emails.

Christy Richardson filed a complaint on Jan. 3 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Florida, Pensacola Division against Choice Loan of Georgia Inc. alleging violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that starting July 27, 2016, she received several email communications from the defendant in its attempt to collect an alleged debt. She alleges the emails sent were extremely hostile and threatened her with lawsuits and property repossession, which caused plaintiff to suffer from abuse, harassment and invasion of privacy and seclusion.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant, actual and statutory damages, attorney's fees and costs, and other relief as the court deems proper. She is represented by Nicholas Michael Murado of Murado Law PA in Miramar.
