Prudential accused of wrongfully denying long-term disability benefits claim

Insurance 05

TAMPA – A woman alleges her claim for disability benefits was wrongfully denied.

Diane Diller filed a complaint on Jan. 17 in the Tampa Division of the Middle District of Florida against The Prudential Insurance Co. of America citing the Employee Retirement Income Security Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she became disabled and applied for disability benefits but was denied. The plaintiff holds The Prudential Insurance Co. of America responsible because the defendant allegedly has a substantial conflict of interest and this guided its decision to deny her benefits.

The plaintiff seeks declaration that she is entitled to reinstatement of benefits, ancillary benefits, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. She is represented by William S. Coffman Jr. of Coffman Law in Tampa.
