MIAMI – An assistant for a Miami-Dade County business claims she was not paid overtime wages.

Gloridelfa Barrios filed a complaint on behalf of all others similarly situated on Jan. 16 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Solasi Accounting & Tax Advice & Design of the Words in Dark Blue at Left Side has a Circle Colored Blue, Purple and Green Light, also known as Solasi; Lacayo Trade Group Inc.; and Sophia Lacayo citing the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she worked more than 40 hours per week without being paid minimum wages. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to pay the plaintiff any overtime compensation for hours worked that exceeds 40, with the exception of an occasional overtime payment of $9 an hour. The suit states her regular wage rate was $16 an hour.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks double damages, all minimum wages, all legal fees plus interest and any other relief as this court deems just. She is represented by J.H. Zidell of J.H. Zidell, P.A. in Miami Beach.
