Consumers file suit against Tucker & Tighe, allege violation of debt collection law

FORT LAUDERDALE – A Boca Raton couple alleges a collection letter mailed to them violates debt collection law.

Robert Orloff and Jolie Orloff filed a complaint on Jan. 17 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Tucker & Tighe PA alleging violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that in 2016, they suffered damages from receiving a demand letter from the defendant. The plaintiffs hold Tucker & Tighe PA responsible because the defendant allegedly made false representations to the total amount owed by the plaintiffs.

The plaintiffs seek actual damages, statutory damages, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. They are represented by Michael T. Ross of Law Office of Michael T. Ross PA in Hollywood and Lourdes E. Ferrer of Ferrer Law Group, PLLC in Weston.
