Carnival traveler alleges wet deck caused fall, injuries

Cruise 05

FORT LAUDERDALE – A California resident alleges she was injured after a slip-and-fall accident on a wet deck on a Carnival ship.

Samia Soliman filed a complaint on Jan. 4 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Carnival Corp., doing business as Carnival Cruise Lines Inc., alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on July 21, 2016, she suffered physical injuries when she slipped and fell due to a wet surface on the passenger deck of the Carnival Imagination. The plaintiff holds Carnival Corp. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to warn the plaintiff and its passengers regarding the wet and slippery surface aboard the vessel.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages plus interest and all legal fees. She is represented by Paul M. Hoffman of Hoffman Law Firm in Fort Lauderdale.
