Former Livshin Enterprises employee alleges she was wrongfully terminated

Wrongful term 08

FORT LAUDERDALE – A former technician for a jewelry store alleges she was terminated after filing a workers' compensation claim for a back injury.

Kirsten Krug filed a complaint on Jan. 13 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Livshin Enterprises Inc. and Steven Livshin alleging wrongful termination and violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she suffered damages from not being paid minimum wages or overtime wages. The plaintiff holds Livshin Enterprises Inc. and Livshin responsible because the defendants allegedly terminated plaintiff's employment when she attempted to file a claim for her workers' compensation due to an injury she suffered during her shift in July 2016.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks economic damages, lost wages and benefits, reinstatement of benefits, compensatory damages, all legal fees and any other relief as this court deems just. She is represented by Christopher J. Whitelock and David S. Frank of Whitelock & Associates P.A. in Fort Lauderdale.
