Stoneworks of Manatee alleged to owe installer overtime wages

Law money 13

TAMPA – A man employed as a tile fabricator and installer alleges he is owed unpaid overtime wages.

Jose Maldonado filed a complaint on Jan. 9 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida against Stoneworks of Manatee LLC alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he worked for more than 40 hours per week without being paid any overtime compensation. The plaintiff holds Stoneworks of Manatee LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to pay overtime premiums at a rate of time-and-one-half to the plaintiff for working more than 40 hours per week.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks all unpaid overtime compensation, liquidated damages, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Marc R. Edelman of Morgan & Morgan P.A. in Tampa.
