XPO Logistics Inc. alleged to owe unpaid wages to former employees

Law money 09

ORLANDO – A class action has been filed by former assistant operations managers against a global transportation and logistics company over allegations that they were not compensated for overtime work.

Reina Ortiz Bey, Ricardo Pacheco, Ashlee Allard and Shannon Suggs filed a complaint on behalf of themselves and all others similarly situated on Dec. 22 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida against XPO Logistics Inc. alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that they were classified as exempt employees by the defendant and were not paid the required overtime wages. The plaintiffs hold XPO Logistics Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly engaged in a widespread pattern and practice of violating the FLSA and failed to pay class members the overtime wages to which they allege they are entitled to.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against defendant, unpaid overtime wages, liquidated damages, interest, attorneys' fees, costs of action and other relief as the court deem just. They are represented by Gregg I. Shavitz and Alan L. Quiles of Shavitz Law Group PA in Boca Raton.
