Allied Interstate LLC accused of improper collection attempts

FLORIDA — A woman is suing Allied Interstate LLC, a debt collector, alleging violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act and the Florida Consumer Collection Practices Act.

Saundra E. O'Neal filed a complaint on Dec. 28 in the Florida 13th Judicial Circuit Court against Allied Interstate LLC, alleging that the debt collector unlawfully contacted the plaintiff in an attempt to collect an alleged debt.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she suffered damages from receiving several collection calls. The plaintiff holds Allied Interstate LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly kept calling the plaintiff using an automatic telephone dialing system despite her request to stop calling her.

The plaintiff seeks damages of $1,500 for each and every call placed to her cellular telephone, $500 for each and every call that was not willfully placed, all legal fees and any other relief as this court deems just.
