Former Tropics Piano Bar cook claims he is owed unpaid overtime wages

Law money 04

MIAMI – A Wilton Manors business is alleged to have not paid a former cook proper overtime wages.

Sajuste Capita filed a complaint on Dec. 21 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Tropics Piano Bar & Restaurant LLC, Kahn Enterprises LLC, Jackson L. Padgett, Gary W. Hillis, Mark A. Taylor and Alex W. Meyer citing the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he worked for more than 40 hours per week for the defendants without being paid any overtime compensation. The plaintiff holds Tropics Piano Bar & Restaurant LLC, Kahn Enterprises LLC, Padgett, Hillis, Taylor and Meyer responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to pay the plaintiff any overtime premium at a rate of time-and-one-half for working more than 40 hours per week.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks overtime compensation, liquidated damages, all legal fees plus interest and any other relief as this court deems just. He is represented by Peter Bober and Samara Bober of Bober & Bober PA in Hollywood.
