Consumer alleges Experian, Trans Union reported fraudulent info on credit report

Late 05

MIAMI – A Miami-Dade County individual alleges fraudulent information hasn't been corrected on her credit report.

Rocio Asuncion Carrasco filed a complaint on Dec. 20 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, Miami Division against Experian Information Solutions Inc., Trans Union LLC and American Honda Finance Corp. alleging violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in 2016, she suffered damages to her credit score because of a fraudulent account. The plaintiff holds Experian Information Solutions Inc., Trans Union LLC and American Honda Finance Corp. responsible because the defendants allegedly reported that she had a "charge off" account of $11,844 and despite plaintiff's dispute of this fraudulent account, the defendants failed to correct this mistake.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks actual damages, statutory damages, compensatory and punitive damages, all legal fees and interest plus any other relief as the court deems just. She is represented by J. Dennis Card Jr. and Darren R. Newhart of Consumer Law Organization, P.A. in North Palm Beach.
