Woman blames fall on shower in Carnival ship's cabin

Cruise 04

MIAMI – A woman alleges she was injured on a cruise when she slipped and fell.

Mary Onstott filed a complaint on Dec. 19 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Carnival Corp. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Jan. 11, 2016, she sustained physical injuries when she slipped and fell in her cabin's bathroom. The plaintiff holds Carnival Corp. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to warn the plaintiff regarding the hazardous condition of the shower and failed to provide a nonslip surface in the bathroom.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment for all damages and any other relief as the court deems just. She is represented by Michael Winkleman and Ivan Izquierdo of Lipcon, Margulies, Alsina & Winkleman PA in Miami.
