MIAMI — A Florida woman is suing Norwegian Cruise Line, alleging the defendant's negligence led to injuries for the plaintiff.
Julie Wilsey filed a lawsuit Dec. 13 in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida Miami Division against Norwegian Cruise Line, alleging failure to keep the floor of the vessel Norwegian Star dry.
According to the complaint, on Dec. 21, 2015, Wilsey suffered a knee injury when she slipped on a wet shuffleboard floor on the Norwegian Star. The suit says a Norwegian Cruise Line employee dashed away without providing assistance and that Wilsey has suffered physical pain, mental anguish and medical expenses.
The plaintiff alleges the defendant failed to implement safety measures in order to address the wet and slippery floor where the shuffleboard event was taking place.
Wilsey seeks trial by jury, damages of more than $75,000, all medical expenses, legal fees and all other relief the court deems just. She is represented by attorney Daniel W. Courtney of Miami.
