Woman says Union Security Insurance Company incorrectly denied benefits

Insurance 01

MIAMI — A woman is suing Union Security Insurance Company, citing alleged breach of contract.

Sherri Fowler filed a complaint on Dec. 5 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Union Security Insurance Company, alleging that the insurance firm denied her claim for disability benefits.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she became disabled and was initially being paid disability benefits but was suddenly terminated. The plaintiff holds Union Security Insurance Company responsible because the defendant allegedly terminated her disability benefits despite her continuing disability according to the terms of the plan.

The plaintiff seeks payment of disability benefits due, reinstatement, all legal fees and interest plus any other relief as this court deems just. She is represented by Cesar Gavidia of Attorneys Dell and Schaefer Chartered in Hollywood.
