MIAMI — A California photography studio is suing a Florida competitor, alleging copyright infringement.

Michael Grecco Productions Inc. of Santa Monica, California, filed a lawsuit Nov. 30 in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Soffersapp LLC and Robert M. Sapp of Aventura, Florida, alleging the defendants reproduced and publicly displayed the plaintiff's copyrighted works without permission.

According to the complaint, Michael Grecco Productions suffered monetary damages from having its copyrighted works used by the defendants without being paid a license fee. The plaintiff alleges the defendants made unauthorized copies of the plaintiff's copyrighted works.

Michael Greco Productions seeks trial by jury, actual damages, disgorgement, statutory damages, all legal fees and interest, plus all other relief the court deems just. It is represented by attorney Karen C. Kline of Duane Morris LLP in Boca Raton.
