Customer alleges Wal-Mart store wrongly accused him of stealing TV

MIAMI — A Broward County man is suing Wal-Mart, alleging the defendant's Miramar store wrongly accused the plaintiff of stealing a TV set. 

Marnio Toussaint filed a lawsuit Nov. 30 in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Wal-Mart Stores Inc., doing business as Wal-Mart Supercenter No. 1511 in Miramar, alleging the defendant wrongly arrested the plaintiff. 

According to the complaint, on Sept. 20, Toussaint suffered damages and humiliation after being arrested due to false accusations of stealing a television earlier in the day. The plaintiff alleges Wal-Mart falsely arrested and handcuffed him and confined him inside the Wal-Mart security office.

Toussaint seeks trial by jury, judgment or more than $75,000, plus court costs. He is represented by attorney Gayle E. Sarju of the Law Office of Gayle Sarju PA in Lauderhill.
