MIAMI – A Broward County man alleges his claim for disability benefits was wrongfully denied.

George Kowalsky filed a complaint on Nov. 18 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Life Insurance Co. of North America citing the Employee Retirement Income Security Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he became disabled and his claim for disability benefits was denied by the defendant in March. The plaintiff holds Life Insurance Co. of North America responsible because the defendant allegedly denied plaintiff's disability benefits despite him being disabled according to the terms of the policy.

The plaintiff seeks payment of disability benefits plus interest, award all disability benefits, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Alicia Paulino-Grisham and Maggie Smith of Di Law Group in Hollywood.
