MIAMI — A Dade County man is suing his employer, alleging unpaid wages, violation of applicable minimum wage law and violation of workers compensation acts.
Lazaro Alberto Ortiz filed a class action complaint, individually and on behalf of all others similarly situated, Nov. 16 in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Mangual's General Services Inc. and Jose E. Mangual, alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
According to the complaint, Ortiz worked for the defendant Jan. 1, 2015, to Sept. 28, 2016, without being paid minimum wages or overtime as required by FLSA.
Ortiz seeks trial by jury, double damages, all minimum wages still owed, all legal fees and all other relief the court deems just. He is represented by attorney J.H. Zidell of Miami Beach.
