Woman alleges ADCS Clinics wrongfully terminated her because of pregnancy

Wrongful term 02

ORLANDO – A medical coder alleges she was unlawfully terminated because of her pregnancy.

Amanda Dely filed a complaint on Nov. 8 in the 9th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida - Orange County against ADCS Clinics LLC alleging violation of the Family Medical Leave Act and the Florida Civil Rights Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in August and September 2015, she missed work for medical reasons related to her pregnancy but provided the defendant with doctor's notes. The suit states that on Sept. 11, 2015, she was terminated by the defendant for performance and attendance issues.

The plaintiff holds ADCS Clinics LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly discriminated against her by failing to accommodate her pregnancy.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment in her favor, back pay and benefits, interest, damages, attorneys' fees, costs, and further relief as permitted by law. She is represented by Marc R. Edelman of Morgan & Morgan in Tampa.
