Celebrity Cruises accused of providing defective wheelchair

Cruise 07

MIAMI — A passenger is suing Celebrity Cruises Inc., a cruise ship company, alleging negligence and insufficient measures taken to prevent injuries.

Roberta Kline filed a complaint on Nov. 10 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida Miami Division against Celebrity Cruises Inc., alleging that the cruise ship company failed to provide a proper working wheelchair to the plaintiff.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in December 2015, she sustained severe physical injuries to her leg due to a defective wheelchair. The plaintiff holds Celebrity Cruises Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to provide a safe wheelchair to the plaintiff.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory damages, punitive damages, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as this court deems just. She is represented by Joshua H. Eggnatz and Michael J. Pascucci of Eggnatz, Lopatin & Pascucci, LLP in Davie.
