Metropolitan Life Insurance Company accused of improperly denying benefits

Insurance 10

TAMPA — A man is suing Metropolitan Life Insurance Company, citing alleged breach of contract.

Richard Dove filed a complaint on Nov. 4 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida against Metropolitan Life Insurance Company, alleging that the insurance firm wrongly denied his claim for disability benefits.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he became disabled and applied for disability benefits but was denied. The plaintiff holds Metropolitan Life Insurance Company responsible because the defendant allegedly refused to pay the plaintiff's disability benefits that he should have received.

The plaintiff seeks waiver of premium and reinstatement of benefits, any other benefits he is entitled to, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as this court deems just. He is represented by William S. Coffman of Coffman Law in Tampa.
