Starbros Cleaners accused of not paying proper overtime wages

Law money 06

MIAMI – A Broward County resident alleges an employer did not properly compensate for overtime work.

Elliette Del Socorro Zeledon filed a complaint on behalf of all others similarly situated on Oct. 23 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Starbros LLC, doing business as Starbros Cleaners LLC and Ecostar Cleaners and formerly known as America's Dry Cleaning; Nudu & Associates Inc.; Ricardo A. Ferreira De Sousa; and Jamilet D. Nunez citing the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff was employed by the defendants as a dry cleaner from October 2013 to October 2016. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to pay overtime premiums at a rate of time-and-one-half to plaintiff for working more than 40 hours per week.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks double damages, all overtime wages still owing, all legal fees and interest and any other relief as this court deems just. The plaintiff is represented by J.H. Zidell of J.H. Zidell PA in Miami Beach.
