A man sues individuals over alleged negligence following car accident

Car accident 36

SARASOTA — A man is suing Jerry Banks and Donna Banks, individuals, citing alleged insufficient measures were taken to prevent injuries and negligence.

Steven Vega filed a complaint on Oct. 13, in the Sarasota County Circuit Court against the defendants alleging that they failed to exercise standard care in operating a motor vehicle.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that, on March 23, 2015, Steven Vega was caused to suffer bodily injury, disability, disfigurement, mental anguish, loss of capacity for the enjoyment of life, hospitalization expenses, loss of wages, loss of future earnings, and aggravation of a previously existing condition, when the motor vehicle he was riding in was struck by Defendant Jerry's vehicle and driven by Defendant Donna near the area of State Road 72 and Sarah Avenue in Sarasota City.

The plaintiff holds Jerry Banks and Donna Banks responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to properly maintain and operate a motor vehicle so as to cause collision with another vehicle and caused plaintiff to suffer permanent, continuing and future losses.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment in his favor, compensatory damages, costs of suit and further demands. He is represented by Derek A. Reams of McCue, Reams and Associates in Bradenton.
