Law money 06

FLORIDA – A Miami-Dade County woman alleges her former employers did not pay her overtime for her work cooking breakfast and attending to hotel guests.

Danira L. Lopez Sierra filed a complaint on Oct. 14 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Apexx Management Group Corp., B & JCM Properties LLC, Benito Irastorza and Jean-Paul Irastorza alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she worked for more than 40 hours without being paid any overtime compensation. The plaintiff holds Apexx Management Group Corp., B & JCM Properties LLC, Benito Irastorza and Jean-Paul Irastorza responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to pay plaintiff any overtime premiums at a rate of time-and-one-half for working more than 40 hours.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory overtime wages, liquidated damages, all legal fees and interest and any other relief the court deems just. She is represented by Brian H. Pollock of Fairlaw Firm in Miami.
