Woman alleges mopped deck on cruise ship caused fall

Cruise 03

MIAMI – A Carnival cruise passenger alleges she slipped and fell on a freshly mopped deck and was injured.

Wendy L. Thatcher filed a complaint on Oct. 12 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, Miami Division against Carnival Corp. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Nov. 16, 2015, she suffered physical injuries after slipping and falling due to a freshly mopped floor. The plaintiff holds Carnival Corp. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to provide adequate warning regarding the wet floor.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory damages in the amount of $200,000 plus interest and any other relief the court deems just. She is represented by Jacob J. Munch and Catherine M. Saylor of Munch and Munch PA in Tampa.
