MIAMI – An office supervisor alleges her former Miami-Dade County employer failed to provide fair compensation to her for her work.
Yunet Sanchez filed a complaint on Sept. 27 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Doctor's @ Your Home Inc. and Jose B. Gardens alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she worked for more than 40 hours per week without being paid any overtime compensation from January to November 2015. She alleges she was terminated after requesting that she be paid for her overtime work. The plaintiff holds Doctor's @ Your Home Inc. and Gardens responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to pay overtime premiums at a rate of time-and-one-half.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks back payments, liquidated damages, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. She is represented by Brian C. Costa of Alvarez, Carbonell, Feltman & Da Silva PL in Coral Gables.
