Florida resident alleges Verifone infringed patent

MIAMI – A Florida resident alleges a business electronics company has infringed his patent with some of its products.

Daniel J. Doczy filed a complaint on Oct. 3 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Verifone Systems Inc. and Verifone Inc. citing patent infringement.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he suffered damages due to his '453 patent, which is titled Modular Protective Housing with Peripherals for a Handheld Communication Device, being infringed. The plaintiff holds Verifone Systems Inc. and Verifone Inc. responsible because the defendants allegedly infringes one or more claims of plaintiff's '453 patent by offering for sale mobile electronic devices that infringes the said patent.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks all damages plus interest, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Kevin N. Malek of Malek Moss PLLC in New York, New York.
