MIAMI – Three former employees of an Opa-locka company allege they were not properly compensated for working overtime hours.
Rodney Robertson, Eric O'Connor and Sammie Davis filed a complaint on Sept. 28 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against American Consolidation & Logistics Inc., Delio Medina and Jose Medina citing the Fair Labor Standards Act.
According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that between 2009 and 2016, they worked for more than 40 hours per week without being paid any overtime compensation. The plaintiffs hold American Consolidation & Logistics Inc., Delio Medina and Jose Medina responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to pay the plaintiffs any overtime premium at a rate of time-and-one-half for hours worked that exceeded 40 hours.
The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek overtime compensation, liquidated damages, all legal fees plus interest and any other relief as this court deems just. They are represented by Peter Bober and Samara Bober of Bober & Bober PA in Hollywood.
