Jones Insurance Group Inc. accused of not paying overtime wages to employee

Law money 12

MIAMI – A personal lines manager alleges she was not properly compensated for overtime hours worked by her Davie employer.

Kerry Lynn Wisdom filed a complaint on Sept. 28 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Jones Insurance Group Inc. and Jeffrey C. Jones citing the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she worked for more than 40 hours without being paid any overtime compensation. The plaintiff holds Jones Insurance Group Inc. and Jeffrey C. Jones responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to pay plaintiff any overtime premiums at a rate of time-and-one-half of her regular wage.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant, all legal fees and any other relief as this court deems just. She is represented by Elliot Kozolchyk of Koz Law PA in Fort Lauderdale.
