Housekeeper alleges she wasn't paid a minimum wage

MIAMI – A domestic live-in housekeeper alleges she was not paid a minimum wage by her former Miami-Dade County employer.

Josefina Acosta Jimenez filed a complaint on Sept. 22 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Manya Borman citing the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that was employed by the defendant from August 2015 to Sept. 9. The plaintiff holds Manya Borman responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to pay the plaintiff a minimum wage.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks double damages, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. She is represented by J.H. Zidell of J.H. Zidell PA in Miami Beach.
