Man blames Norwegian Cruise Line for fall that caused dislocated shoulder

Cruise 03

MIAMI – A Texas man has filed suit against a cruise line alleging he fell and dislocated his shoulder while on the ship.

John Mazzara filed a complaint on Sept. 19 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against NCL (Bahamas) LTD, doing business as Norwegian Cruise Line, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Nov. 26, 2015, he sustained injuries to his left shoulder when he tripped and fell over a threshold while aboard the Norwegian Jade. He alleges the ship's doctors told him the shoulder was dislocated and would not reset it. The plaintiff holds NCL (Bahamas) LTD responsible because the defendant allegedly allowed the dangerous condition of the ship's threshold and failed to provide adequate warning to its passengers, including plaintiff.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages, all medical expenses, all legal fees and interest plus any other relief as this court deems just. He is represented by Spencer Aronfeld and Matthias M. Hayashi of Aronfeld Trial Lawyers in Coral Gables.
