Fastenal Co. allegedly failed to pay sales associate overtime wages

MIAMI — A former sales associate has filed suit against her previous employer for allegedly failing to pay her overtime wages.

Tara Applebaum filed a complaint Sept. 16 in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Fastenal Co., alleging that the employer failed to provide fair compensation for the plaintiff's work.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that between 2015 and 2016, she worked for more than 40 hours per week without being paid any overtime compensation. The plaintiff holds Fastenal Co.y responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to pay the plaintiff any overtime premium for hours worked that exceeded 40 per week.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks overtime wages and lost benefits, interest, liquidated damages, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems appropriate. She is represented by Charles M. Eiss, Lindsay M. Massillon and Nathaly Lewis of Law Offices of Charles Eiss P.L. in Plantation.
