Woman alleges paint caused her to fall in Target parking lot

Slip01

JACKSONVILLE – A Target shopper alleges the incorrect paint was used in a parking lot and caused her to slip and fall.

Fabiola Mendez-Borges filed a complaint on Sept. 9 in the 4th Judicial Circuit Court for Duval County against Target Corp. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on April 12, 2015, she was visiting defendant's Jacksonville location when she slipped and fell as she stepped on slippery painted lines within the parking grounds of the store. She alleges the incident caused her to suffer injuries resulting to disability, disfigurement, scarring, mental anguish, loss of the capacity to enjoy life, medical expenses, inability to earn money and aggravation of previously existing condition.

The plaintiff holds Target Corp. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to adequately warn plaintiff of the dangerous condition and failed to maintain, inspect and correct the condition of the premises.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant for damages and other relief deemed proper by the court. She is represented by Michael D. Marrese of Morgan & Morgan PA in St. Augustine.
