TAMPA — A former employee has filed a class-action lawsuit against her previous employer for allegedly failing to pay minimum wage and overtime wages.

Vana Lie filed a complaint on behalf of herself and others similarly situated on Sept. 9 in the Tampa Division of the Middle District of Florida against Agemy Family Corp., alleging that the employer failed to fairly compensate the plaintiff for her work.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she worked for more than 40 hours each week without being paid any overtime compensation. The plaintiff holds Agemy Family Corp. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to pay overtime premium to the plaintiff for hours worked that exceeded 40 per week.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks reimbursement of an amount equal to the loss of wages and liquidated damages, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems. She is represented by Kyle J. Lee of Lee Law PLLC in Brandon and W. John Gadd of Clearwater.
