ORLANDO – An Orange County consumer is suing an Ohio-based debt collector alleging it has harassed her with more than 100 calls.

Deborah Clark filed a complaint on Sept. 9 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, Orlando Division against Macy's Credit and Customer Services Inc. citing the Telephone Consumer Protection Act and the Florida Consumer Collection Practices Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges the defendant has called more than 100 times since November 2014 in an attempt to collect an alleged debt. The plaintiff holds Macy's Credit and Customer Services Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly used an automatic telephone dialing system to contact plaintiff and kept contacting her despite her requests to stop.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks statutory damages, punitive damages, actual damages, all legal fees and interest plus any other relief as the court deems just. She is represented by William Peerce Howard and Amanda J. Allen of The Consumer Protection Firm PLLC in Tampa.
