Oklahoma man accuses Royal Caribbean of negligence after fall in shower

Cruise 06

MIAMI – A passenger claims he injured his head, neck and back after slipping in the shower on a cruise ship.

Kelvin James filed a complaint on Sept. 9 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Royal Caribbean Cruises LTD alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Nov. 14, 2015, he suffered injuries when he slipped and fell in the shower in the bathroom of his cabin on the Oasis of the Seas. The plaintiff holds Royal Caribbean Cruises LTD responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to provide a proper shower, use adequate flooring and failed to warn of the dangers of showering in the cabin bathrooms.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks all damages. He is represented by Michael Winkleman and Ivan Izquierdo of Lipcon, Margulies, Alsina & Winkleman PA in Miami.
