MIAMI — A former employee has filed a class-action lawsuit against a party supply business for alleged unpaid overtime wages.

Guyvener Deneus filed a complaint on behalf of herself and others similarly situated Sept. 7 in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Regency Party Rentals & Supplies Inc. and Nick Ivancevic, alleging that they failed to fairly compensate the plaintiff for his work.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he worked for more than 40 hours per week without being paid any overtime compensation. The plaintiff holds Regency Party Rentals & Supplies Inc. and Nick Ivancevic responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to properly record all of the hours the plaintiff worked and failed to pay him any overtime premium for the hours he worked that exceeded 40 per week.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks all overtime wages, liquidated damages, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems appropriate. He is represented by Maguene D. Cadet of Law Office of Dieudonne Cadet P.A. in Boynton Beach.
