Miami-Dade resident alleged to owe on student loan

MIAMI – A Miami-Dade County individual is alleged to owe more than $9,000 in student loan debt.

United States of America filed a complaint on Aug. 31 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Luz V. Rosario-Alvelo alleging that the individual failed to settle her debt to plaintiff.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges Rosario-Alvelo failed to pay the U.S Department of Education for the principal amount of her debt plus interest. The suit states the defendant defaulted on the loan in 2007.

The plaintiff seeks principal amount of $7,586.97, interest of $1,431.92, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. It is represented by Steven M. Davis of Becker & Poliakoff PA in Coral Gables.
