MIAMI — A registered nurse has filed suit against a health care provider, alleging she was docked pay for lunch breaks that she was never allowed to take and was never paid overtime wages.

Anne Swanson filed a complaint on Aug. 31 in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, Miami Division, against Armor Correctional Health Services Inc., alleging that the employer failed to fairly compensate the plaintiff for all hours worked per week.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that between October 2010 and November 2014, she worked for more than 40 hours each week without being paid any overtime wages. The plaintiff holds Armor Correctional Health Services Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to pay the plaintiff any overtime premium for hours worked that exceeded 40 per week.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks reimbursement for all unpaid hours and any other relief as the court deems appropriate. She is represented by Carlos V. Leach of Morgan & Morgan P.A. in Orlando.
