MIAMI — A couple has filed suit against the Miami Airport LLC after the wife allegedly slipped and fell on wet pavement outside the Miami Airport Hilton.

Barbara and Anton Sullivan filed a complaint on Aug. 11 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, Miami Division, against Miami Airport LLC, citing alleged insufficient measures were taken to prevent injuries, loss of consortium, and negligence. The hotel is owned and operated by the defendant.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on Aug. 29, 2015, Barbara Sullivan sustained severe physical injuries in the accident and purportedly now suffers from disability, disfigurement, mental anguish, loss of earnings and incurred medical expenses caused by a fall as a result of the wet pavement surrounding the hotel entrance, and likewise caused Anton Sullivan to lose the support and services of his wife.

The plaintiffs hold Miami Airport LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to properly maintain the area, failed to warn the plaintiffs of the existence of the condition and failed to correct the condition.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against the defendant for damages in excess of $75,000, court costs, prejudgment interest and all other relief the court sees fit. They are represented by Michael B. Feiler of Feiler & Leach PL in Coral Gables.
