Law money 10

FORT MYERS — A former employee has filed suit against a plumbing and air conditioning business for allegedly failing to pay proper wages.

Peggy Manett filed a complaint on Aug. 1 in U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, Fort Myers Division, against G.P. Plumbing & Air Conditioning Corp., Guy R. Poirier and Carlos T. Costa,   alleging that they failed to fairly compensate the plaintiff.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that between April and July, she worked for more than 40 hours without being paid any overtime wages. The plaintiff holds G.P. Plumbing & Air Conditioning Corp., Guy R. Poirier and Carlos T. Costa responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to pay the plaintiff any overtime premium for hours worked that exceeded 40 per week.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks unpaid overtime compensation, liquidated damages, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems appropriate. She is represented by Bradley P. Rothman of Weldon & Rothman PL in Naples.
