Woman alleges Advanced Call Center Technologies called her using autodialer

TAMPA – A Hillsborough County consumer claims a Pennsylvania company has called her more 144 times in an attempt to collect an alleged debt owed by her daughter.

Rhona Torres filed a complaint on Aug. 16 in the Tampa Division for the Middle District of Florida against Advanced Call Center Technologies LLC alleging violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in beginning in October 2012, she sustained damages from being contacted on her cellular telephone without her consent. The plaintiff holds Advanced Call Center Technologies LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly contacted plaintiff on her cellular telephone in an attempt to collect an alleged debt owed by her daughter using an automatic dialing system.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages, permanent injunction against the defendant, and any other relief as the court deems just. She is represented by James S. Giardina and Kimberly H. Wochholz of The Consumer Rights Law Group PLLC in Tampa.
