Trademark 08

MIAMI — An overseas corporation is suing Masood and Sons Inc., citing alleged unfair competition pertaining to its water pipes.

Roor, a for-profit company based in Germany, filed a complaint on Aug. 8 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Masood and Sons Inc., doing business as Fast Stop, alleging that the Florida corporation sells counterfeit products that bear the plaintiff's trademark.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that Roor suffered damages to the business. The plaintiff holds Masood and Sons Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly distributed and sold water pipes bearing the plaintiff's mark. Roor has been in business since 1996, the suit states.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant for damages, profits, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems reasonable. It is represented by Anthony J. Badway of The Ticktin Law Group PLLC in Deerfield Beach.
