Wellington Elite Trading accused of selling counterfeit water pipes

MIAMI — A German company has filed suit against Wellington Elite Trading Inc., a Florida corporation, citing alleged trademark infringement.

Roor filed a complaint on Aug. 8 in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Wellington Elite Trading Inc., doing business as Exotic Vapes, alleging that the Florida corporation has been selling counterfeit products that bear the plaintiff's trademark.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that Roor suffered damages to its business because of the defendant's actions. Roor sells handcrafted water pipes, the suit states. The plaintiff holds Wellington Elite Trading Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly distributes and sells counterfeit water pipes bearing the plaintiff's trademark. In order to sell Roor’s products, the products must first be purchased by the respective sellers from an authorized Roor agent, the suit states. 

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant for damages, profits, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems appropriate. It is represented by Anthony J. Badway of The Ticktin Law Group PLLC in Deerfield Beach.
