Law money 05

TALLAHASSEE – A painter and cleaner has filed a class-action suit against his former employer over allegations it did not pay him overtime wages.

Eric Nealy filed a complaint on behalf of all similarly situated individuals on Aug. 11 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Florida, Tallahassee Division against Johnson & Johnson Cleaning Services Inc. and Pamela Johnson alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that between June 2003 and September 2015, he worked for more than 40 hours per week without being paid any overtime wages. The plaintiff holds Johnson & Johnson Cleaning Services Inc. and Johnson responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to pay any overtime premiums at a rate of one-and-one-half to plaintiff for hours worked that exceeds 40 hours per week.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks overtime compensation, liquidated damages, legal fees and interest and any other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Paul M. Botros of Morgan & Morgan PA in Plantation.
