Waitress seeks thousands in damages from Miller's Ale House for allegedly unpaid overtime

MIAMI – A waitress alleges that a Miami-Dade County restaurant did not pay her overtime wages.

Lisa Bolt filed a complaint on behalf of other similarly situated individuals on Aug. 12 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, Miami Division against Miller's Ale House Inc. alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she worked approximately 50 hours per week without being paid any overtime wages between September 2011 to October 2015. The plaintiff holds Miller's Ale House Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to pay any overtime premium for hours worked that exceeded 40 per week to plaintiff. She alleges she is owed $26,704.80 in total damages.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks actual damages for unpaid wages and overtime compensation, double damages/liquidated damages, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. She is represented by J. Lindsey Chong and Michelle L. Grosser of Grosser Chong LLC in Miami and R. Edward Rosenberg of Sorondo Rosenberg Legal PA in Coral Gables.
