FORT LAUDERDALE – A car collector is suing a manufacturer over allegations that his reputation has been damaged because of its denial of selling him a car.
Preston Henn filed a complaint on Aug. 1 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, Fort Lauderdale Division against Ferrari North America Inc. alleging defamation.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff is a Ferrari collector and operates the Swap Shop and its museum. He alleges his reputation was damaged because the defendant would not sell him a LaFerrari Spider. The suit states he was told by the defendant that all of the vehicles had been sold, but the plaintiff alleges friends told him that they were told the defendant's reasoning was that the plaintiff was not qualified.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of more than $75,000 plus interest and costs as compensation for the damages to his reputation. He is represented by Bruce S. Rogow and Tara A. Campion of Bruce S. Rogow PA in Fort Lauderdale.
