MIAMI – A Panama-based company alleges a Miami business and its operator did not pay for a time charter.

Asmara Services S. DE R.L. filed a complaint on July 28 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Vanguardia Energy LLC and Matthew Klann alleging breach of contract.

According to the complaint, the parties entered into a time charter and the defendant was to transfer $375,000 to the plaintiff upon the arrival of a commercial oil and chemical tanker called Tradewind Adventure in Texas. The plaintiff holds Vanguardia Energy LLC and Klann responsible because the defendants allegedly failed and refused to pay plaintiff.

The plaintiff seeks damages in the amount of $287,940, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as this court deems just. It is represented by Jonathan W. Skipp and Ryan M. McCarthy of Horr, Novak & Skipp PA in Miami.
