Companies claim cargo was damaged in transport

Contract 10

MIAMI – Two Texas companies with places of business in Florida allege $142,000 worth of cargo was damaged in transport from Florida to the Virgin Islands.

Technomedia Solutions LLC and DMX LLC filed a complaint on June 21 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Withers Worldwide Forwarders Inc., Withers Transfer & Storage of Coral Gables Inc., Crowley Maritime Corp. and Crowley Caribbean Services LLC alleging breach of contract, negligence and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that in 2015, they suffered damages to their business as the result of their cargo of electronic equipment being damaged when transported by the defendants. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to carry proper insurance for the cargo and failed to exercise due diligence for the cargo's care.

The plaintiff seeks compensatory damages and all interest, and any other relief as the court deems just. They are represented by Jonathan W. Skipp and Ryan M. McCarthy of Horr, Novak, & Skipp PA in Miami.
